Here at Pack 962, we understand that summer camp is a yearly high point for our Cub Scouts, and we love to go! We also know that different children are ready for different experiences at different times, so we support a variety of camp experiences. Here are the places we often go, and our recommendations. Lions and Tigers require their adult partner at all activities, and we encourage parents to be involved in every activity with their child.

To keep costs down, YPT trained leaders and YPT trained parents from the Pack volunteer their time to help supervise the Scouts in camp. At day and twilight camp Parents or other adults take turns supervising the Pack's children each day.

Lions aren't members of the Pack in time to register for Summer Camp, they look forward to that experience the summer they are rising First Graders.

Here at Pack 962, we have guides for parents and Leaders to help with the summer camp process! Please find the PDF's below. They are formatted for printing as a booklet. These were written as part of Callie Fulmer's Wood Badge Ticket! If you are another Pack and would like to download the files, click here.

Goose Creek District Day/Twilight Camp

Day/Twilight Camp is the cornerstone of camp programs for the Pack. We recommend rising Tigers and rising Wolves go to Day or Twilight camp, and many older Scouts go to Day camp and an overnight program.

Day Camp is an all day program, while Twilight Camp is in the evening.

Camp Snyder is the NCAC Cub Scout Camp in Haymarket, VA.

Pack 962 encourages rising Wolves and rising Bears to go for a resident weekend camp(2 nights) as they look ahead to Webelos Week.

Snyder also offers "Family Camping", an opportunity to do Scout camp activities while camping with your adults and siblings!

Camp Rock Enon is Shenandoah Council's camp, near Winchester, VA.

Pack 962 is going to Webelos Week at Rock Enon for the first time in 2021!

Rock Enon also offers family camping, and a 3 night resident camp experience for younger Cubs, another good stepping stone between Day camp and Webelos Week.

Goshen Scout Reservation is the NCAC Webelo and Scout BSA camp, in Goshen, VA

Goshen is home to two camps just for Webelos, three for Scouts BSA, and two high adventure experiences.

Pack 962 has often enjoyed Webelos Week there.

For a different kind of experience, Camp Broad Creek, outside of Baltimore, offers a "Family Camp" style overnight experience, where Scouts and siblings can participate in the Scout Camp activities, supervised by their parents.

The one, the only, Philmont Scout Ranch offers Family Camp! Travel to New Mexico to take in the wonder of the 140,700+ acres of wilderness that has been the heart of Scouting for decades. Programs for all ages now available, and you don't even have to sleep in a tent to enjoy it!
